Living Concepts

Ola Serhal creates and transforms ideas into living concepts. Living concepts are not objects or campaigns, they are systems in motion, designed to be lived, performed, and transformed over time. They exist at the intersection of art, education, technology, everyday life, and brand experiences, where learning, participation, and experience become the medium and the message. Through imagination, research, and creative practice, Ola develops projects that engage people, spaces, and perspectives, turning concepts into dynamic, immersive realities that invite exploration, reflection, and discovery. Each project below is a proposal for a different way of learning, moving, and engaging with the world, including educational spaces and visions for brands seeking meaningful, experiential connections with their audiences.

The Living Art School

The Living School is a call for re‑imagining art education and space. It is not a fixed structure, not a set of rules or lessons, but a living root system: organic, breathing, and constantly growing with its learners. Knowledge is not given; it is discovered. Learning is not a product; it is a process of becoming.

Inspired by the philosophy of John Dewey, the Living School understands education as lived experience. Learning happens through doing, sensing, and engaging with the world, and with oneself. Art is not separate from life; it is life in motion.

Here, curriculum is not a list to be mastered but an evolving system shaped by the body, the community, and the land. This living art space becomes a field of personal, social, cultural, and ecological transformation , a place to embrace uncertainty, experiment freely, and connect deeply. The Living School proposes education as a way of living, not preparing for life, but living it fully.

Merkaba VR Driving

VR-DRIVE MERKABA is an innovative virtual reality driving simulator that redefines driving education as a safe, immersive, and adaptable experience. It combines realistic car-like simulators with advanced VR technology to support learners in developing mental, sensory, and emotional readiness, without entering a real vehicle.

Through therapeutic simulation, real-world street environments, and instructor-guided companion modes, VR-DRIVE MERKABA offers a fully equipped learning system that mimics the road without risk. It proposes driving education as an embodied, conscious, and sustainable practice, aligned with global goals for health, education, safe cities, and climate action.

The project serves diverse communities, including neurodiverse individuals, new drivers preparing for licensing, driving instructors seeking safer and more adaptable training tools, environmentally conscious learners, and cities aiming to reduce traffic risks and emissions. Driving here is understood not only as a technical skill, but as a psychological threshold. Many learners face anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, or fear that traditional driving schools are not designed to support. VR-DRIVE MERKABA responds to this gap by placing mental health, accessibility, and care at the center of mobility education.

Living Sustainable Art

This living art unit invites youth to imagine glowing beings drawn from myth, memory, or the future, figures that embody emotion, environmental awareness, and transformation.

The learning process unfolds through collective imagination, installation-making, body movement, and light. Students work together to design immersive environments using recycled materials, fabric, paint, and interactive lighting. Knowledge emerges through making, sensing, and performing rather than instruction alone.

The body plays a central role. Through movement and performance, students become the glowing beings they imagine, exploring how emotion, gesture, and presence can communicate stories of environmental danger, care, and resilience. The unit culminates in a live presentation where installation, light, and performance merge into a shared experience. Art becomes a space for ecological reflection, storytelling, and embodied understanding , where sustainability is not taught as a concept, but lived as an artistic vision.

Living Mobile Retail Theatre

The Mobile Retail Living Theatre transforms branding and retail into an immersive performance, where the city itself becomes the stage and passersby become active participants. Instead of passive storefronts and fixed displays, it activates streets, plazas, and in-between spaces as living sets that shift with time, light, and movement. Every encounter is a scene in progress, inviting people to step inside, co-create, and reimagine their relationship to brands, objects, and public space.

Designed as a sustainable, experiential alternative to conventional retail, the Mobile Retail Living Theatre minimizes material waste and static infrastructure, favoring modular, reusable elements and site-responsive interventions. It invites innovative brands to experiment with more ethical, relational forms of visibility places where storytelling, care, and dialogue matter as much as transactions. Here, commerce becomes choreography, and marketing becomes a shared, lived experience.

Living Futuristic Youth Education

This project explores art as a living practice for youth, where fields of study such as science, math, biology, environmental studies, and humanities merge seamlessly with art, not as separate subjects but as interconnected units of exploration. Participants engage in activities that connect meaning and understanding, for example, creating geometric mandalas inspired by mathematical patterns, mixed-media cellular artworks reflecting biological processes, or interactive installations exploring environmental decline. Through hands-on experiences like collage, animation, digital storytelling, and reflective journaling, youth learn to navigate identity, emotional wellbeing, and the changing world, fostering awareness, resilience, and creative agency.

Living Mental Sustainability

This project explores how shifting scale transforms perception, awareness, and our relationship with space, framing it as a practice of living mental sustainability. Inspired by Downsizing movie, I navigate spaces like Alice in Wonderland, altering my body in relation to the environment and documenting these experiences as a form of dialogue with space and viewers. Living mental sustainability is the ability to adapt and remain aware when navigating changes in scale, perception, and space, fostering tolerance, respect, and a deeper connection to the presence of those who once inhabited these places. Through these shifts in perspective, the work invites reflection on how perception shapes our emotional, cognitive, and spatial understanding of the world.

Living Re-create & Re-use

Re-Create & Re-Use explores how transforming discarded clothing into wearable art reshapes our relationship with materials, creativity, and community, framing it as a practice of living sustainability. Participants engage in hands-on experimentation with fabric, sewing, and dyeing, turning old garments into sites of storytelling and personal expression. Living sustainability here means cultivating care, resourcefulness, and collective responsibility, fostering connections between individuals, their creations, and the community. Through this process, the project invites reflection on how creativity and reuse can transform both material and social worlds.
