Walking… silently towards Wokeness for myself…

I waked up this morning feeling awake, as if I didn’t sleep, as if my dreams were a reality.

I walked towards the bathroom, washed my face, and opened my arms to the light.

I continued walking with wokeness towards my bedroom thinking of my invisible me.

I asked myself, how can I make myself visible? who I want to be today?

I opened my wardrobe and picked up a scratched jeans and a black t-shirt that is written on it: “Don’t F- – – with the Earth”

It made sense to me that this t-shirt speaks out loud on the issues of abusing the resources on earth for the sake of personal gain or short-term profit.

I thought I am part of earth; I am a resource that should be organically treated and valued as individuals with dignity, rights, and potential.

So, I paraphrased the black t-shirt’s words into:“Don’t F- – – with me”

People, friends, family, lovers etc… take you for granted.

They assume, presume that it is ok to F— with your life.

Silently, I walked towards being woke and decided to stop this taken for granted me.

Silently I was doing actions for myself without hearing them.

I was deaf, blind, and mute to them.

But I was hearing, seeing, and talking to myself.

I was awake…

As I walked outside of the house, I noticed people smiling to me.

Are they smiling to me or to the words on my t-shirt?

Do people see or look at what they see?

What if I take out my t-shirt and be naked?

Am I the subject now to “f- – – me” or “cancel me”?

The next day, I walked wearing plein white t-shirt and a formal pant.

The eyes were away from me.

I was like: “leave the f- – – out of me.”

I continued walking with wokeness for myself everyday putting myself and my body in a state of performative silent protest…

Fashion becomes my expressive silent tool.

Giving and receiving according to my dress code for the day.
